We were pretty excited to receive our invite for the launch of The Loft’s Autumn Menu especially after our last visit where Eddie shared his Apple & Elderflower Sherry Cobbler recipe. The Loft menu is reflective of seasonal trends utilising fresh, local produce thanks to the neighbouring Adelaide Central Markets. The specials board typically consists of a Market Special & a Booze ‘n’ Juice option whilst the seasonal cocktail menu comprises of a Fizz, Cobbler, Tiki cocktail, Julep & a Coffee Experiment (I hope I got this right…Eddie?). Throughout the menu you will find Autumn fruits such as crisp apples and tangy citrus as well as fresh herbs.

The Contender

Strawberry Infused The West Winds Gin, Mandarin & Rosemary Syrup, Lemon & Apple Juice

The aroma of charred rosemary filled the air as The Contender was placed in front of us, the soft smoke slowly dissipated. After the rosemary scent had gone and the coupe was lifted there was a sweet strawberry & an abundance of herbs on the nose. The Strawberry infused Gin was complimented by the mandarin and rosemary syrup whilst the apple juice and lemon cut through with just the right amount of acidity. The charred strawberry marshmallow was a sweet treat that completed the experience.

Georgia Julep

Minted Infused Bourbon, House-made Peach Brandy and Seasonal Berries

Inspired by a traditional mint julep, the Georgia Julep is a softer, slightly sweeter but just as fragrant cousin. The julep was amply diluted to soften the kick of the bourbon.

Coffee Experiment

Loft Signature Espresso Martini - Dark Rum, Spiced Caramel and Shiraz Reduction, Espresso

The Loft’s signature espresso has a great deal of complexity in comparison to a traditional Vodka Espresso Martini that most are familiar with. Generally a Dark Rum is aged longer, in heavily charred barrels, which gives them strong flavours, hints of spices and strong molasses and/or caramel overtones which marries perfectly with the spiced caramel and shiraz reduction. So popular, that The Loft has sold over 14,000 of the signature cocktail since inception several years back.
