Artichoke Hold Cocktail

The Artichoke Hold was created by Jeremy Oertel from Brooklyn (NY) cocktail bar, Donna. It's a riff on one of his other creations, the Bitter Mai Tai, which is also a riff on a classic Mai Tai. The funkiness of the Smith & Cross creates a solid base whilst the Cynar and Elderflower add an interesting bittersweet combination of flavours.

Ingredients
 

  • 22.5 ml Jamaican Rum preferably Smith & Cross
  • 22.5 ml Cynar
  • 15 ml Elderflower Liqueur preferably St Germain
  • 22.5 ml Lime Juice
  • 15 ml Orgeat

Instructions
 

  • Combine all the ingredients into your cocktail shaker
  • Shake with ice
  • Strain over crush ice into a double old fashioned glass
  • Garnish with a mint sprig
