Banana Boulevardier

The Banana Boulevardier was inspired when general manager at Anvil Bar & Refuge, Terry Williams, emptied the last remains of a bottle of banana liqueur. Upon mixing it with Campari, Terry discovered that the combination worked surprisingly well. He then naturally segued into adding the banana liqueur into a well known classic Campari cocktail, the Boulevardier.
I recommending using a bourbon whiskey with a little higher proof to stand up to the bitterness of the Campari. A higher ABV whiskey will also combat the additional sweetness brought on by the banana liqueur.
I've long used the Negroni / Boulevardier recipe as a cocktail template, substituting half the Campari for an alternate liqueur – Mr Black coffee liqueur, amaro, etc. Try it with your favourite liqueur.

Equipment

  • Mixing Glass
  • Jigger
  • Barspoon

Ingredients
  

  • 30 ml bourbon whiskey
  • 30 ml sweet vermouth
  • 15 ml Campari
  • 15 ml banana liqueur

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing glass, combine all ingredient
  • Stir with ice for 20-30 seconds
  • Strain over a large cube into an old fashioned glass
  • Garnish with an orange twist
