
Cloister
The Cloister originated in 1971 where it was first featured in the Playboy Bartender’s Guide. Gin is combined with Yellow Chartreuse, a honeyed herbal liqueur, and a flavourful combination of citrus. Jim Meehan adapted the recipe and included it in his PDT Cocktail Book in 2011.
Ingredients
- 45 ml Gin
- 15 ml Yellow Chartreuse
- 15 ml white grapefruit juice
- 7.5 ml lemon juice
- 7.5 ml simple syrup
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients
- Shake for 10-12 seconds
- Double strain into a stemmed cocktail glass
- Garnish with a twist of grapefruit

April 1, 2023 at 12:50 pmWe didn’t have lemon juice so used lime, and also just regular pink grapefruit juice. The drinks were superb!
