Cloister

The Cloister originated in 1971 where it was first featured in the Playboy Bartender’s Guide. Gin is combined with Yellow Chartreuse, a honeyed herbal liqueur, and a flavourful combination of citrus. Jim Meehan adapted the recipe and included it in his PDT Cocktail Book in 2011.

Instructions
 

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients
  • Shake for 10-12 seconds
  • Double strain into a stemmed cocktail glass
  • Garnish with a twist of grapefruit

    We didn’t have lemon juice so used lime, and also just regular pink grapefruit juice. The drinks were superb!
