Cynar Julep Cocktail Recipe
The Cynar Julep is apparently the julep of choice in Buenos Aires and this particular recipe comes from Argentinian bartender Renato "Tato" Giovannoni of Florerèa Atlántico. The soft vegetal bitterness of Cynar works remarkably well with grapefruit and fresh mint.
Try substituting the grapefruit soda for freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and soda water.
Ingredients
- 60 mL Cynar 2 oz
- 15 mL Fresh Lemon Juice 0.5 oz
- 15 mL Simple Syrup 0.5 oz
- 60 mL Grapefruit Soda 2 oz
- 3-4 Mint Leaves
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients except the grapefruit soda to your cocktail shaker
- Briefly shaker with ice
- Strain over crushed ice into a double old fashioned glass
- Add the grapefruit soda
- Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and sprig of mint
