Fork on the Road Food Truck Event

Burger Theory Food Van

We present the inaugural Fork on the Road, a celebration of Adelaide’s growing food truck culture all in one place at the one time, creating a delicious new type of market arrangement in the heart of the CBD.

The first Fork on the Road event was held back in November 2012 in Victoria Square. Boasting over 30 food trucks and stalls, the event is growing with each and every meet – around 10 so far. Fork on the Road is raising community awareness of this ever-popular and vibrant food culture.

Burger Theory

Burger Theory seemed to be the most popular food truck at the event, with a line 10 deep throughout the afternoon. It was the first time I had tried Burger Theory’s food and wow, I’m thoroughly impressed – the beef was cooked perfectly and was so flavorsome, moist and tender to bite into. My personal pick was the Burger No. 2 ($11) that was served with pancetta and a blue cheese sauce. I would have to say it was one of the tastiest burgers I’ve had in my travels!

La Cantina Co

Another popular food truck was La Cantina Co, serving Mexican street food; Tacos, Burritos and Quesadillas. The burritos were scrumptious and oversized! ($8) There was plenty of flavour and the chicken was cooked perfectly.

Wienerbago

Unfortunately I couldn’t fit any more in after a Burger Theory pancetta & blue cheese beef burger and an oversize La Cantina burrito, it was too late to try Wienerbago’s Kransky’s 🙁 I’ll definitely be following these guys to see where they are parked next!
