
Gold Rush Cocktail Recipe
The Gold Rush is identified as one of the first truly iconic cocktails to be developed at Milk & Honey. Ironically it wasn't created by the bar owner, industry pioneer Sasha Petraske, or his staff but a close friend of Sasha’s attending the bar for a knock off.Jim Meehan tried the drink for the first time in 2003 and stated that it fundamentally changed his view on cocktails. He went on to make the drink at every bar he worked at over the years and published it in his book, The PDT Cocktail Book, which aided its spread.
Ingredients
- 60 ml Bourbon Whiskey
- 22.5 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
- 22.5 ml Honey Syrup, 3:1
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients
- Shake with ice for 10-12 seconds
- Strain over fresh ice into an old fashioned glass
- Garnish with a twist of lemon
