Jeffrey Morgenthaler’s Eggnog

Shortly after Jeffrey Morgenthaler started at Clyde Common he decided to create a unique eggnog for the restaurant on a weekly basis. His first creation, a combination of añejo tequila and Amontillado sherry, was so well received that it made no sense to change it.
The Amontillado sherry brings a nutty characteristic that pairs exceptionally well with the tequila.

  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 75 g Superfine / Caster Sugar
  • 180 ml Whole Milk
  • 120 ml Heavy Cream
  • 60 ml Añejo Tequila
  • 75 ml Amontillado Sherry


  • Blend the eggs on medium for 1 minute
  • Slowly add the sugar and blend for a further 1 minutes
  • Add the remaining ingredients and incorporate
  • Transfer to a sterilised bottled and refrigerate
  • Pour into a chilled glass to serve
  • Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg
