Kingston Negroni Recipe
Back in 2013 Joaquín Simó (of Death & Co., NY) was handed a bottle of Smith & Cross overproof Jamaican rum and his first instinct was to stir it down in a Negroni in place of gin.Smith & Cross is a pot-stilled Jamaican rum with a high ester count - it smells of funky, overripe tropical fruit, banana bread and spice. You can try using an alternate rum but a funky pot-distilled Jamaican overproof is preferred.
Ingredients
- 30 ml Overproof Jamaican Rum preferably Smith & Cross
- 30 ml Sweet Vermouth preferably Carpano Antica
- 30 ml Campari
Instructions
- Combine the 3 ingredients to your mixing glass
- Stir with ice for 20-30 seconds
- Strain over ice into a double old fashioned glass
- Garnish with a twist of orange
