Mojito Cocktail Recipe
The origins of the Mojito are a little mysterious and some stories go as far back as the 16th century. We’re unsure of it’s true lineage but I know for sure, that it is the perfect refreshing summer cocktail and is a crowd favourite no matter the occasion.
Ingredients
- 60 mL White Rum 2 oz
- 30 mL Lime Juice 1 oz
- 22.5 mL Sugar Syrup ¾ oz
- 6-8 Mint Leaves
- 60 mL Soda 2 oz
Instructions
- Fill a hi-ball glass with ice
- Pick some fresh mint and tear in half, place on the palm of your hand, clap the mint and add to glass
- Add the rum, lime juice and sugar syrup
- Top with a splash of soda
- Stir thoroughly
Notes
This method is perfect for groups as you can presqueeze the lime juice, making the mojito will now be a quick, clean and painfree process.

December 31, 2018 at 8:19 amDepends on how much you want to make? If you want to make lots of them then you can always batch the ingredients – adding rum, mojito syrup and fresh lime juice. Then you only need to pour 105-120mL of the batched mojito, add ice and garnish with a mint sprig.
Best to cold infuse the mint after making the sugar syrup rather than adding it over the heat. Just remove the stems, tear and add to the syrup to steep.
Let me know how you go!

July 30, 2019 at 3:31 amI always ask to replace the rum with vodka and add a splash of bitters. Is my preference fitting another name rather than mojito?
