Monkey Gland Cocktail Recipe

Whilst the Monkey Gland has a pretty unfortunate name, it's a classic that has been around since the 1920s and is one of the better cocktails featuring orange juice. Notes of anise shine alongside the vibrant and tart grenadine.
Created by Harry MacElhone of Harry's New York Bar, Paris and author of Barflies and Cocktails. The name was inspired by Serge Voronoff, a doctor who made his name whilst working in France in the 1920s and 30s for grafting monkey gland tissue onto Frenchmen for therapeutic purposes. Weird.
