
Monte Carlo Cocktail Recipe
The Monte Carlo is a variation on the Manhattan and was featured in David Embury's 1948 The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks. It is on the sweeter side but these ratios do showcase the Benedictine liqueurs sweet, honeyed spice.If you prefer a dry, whiskey-forward drink then the Benedictine measurement can be halved.
Ingredients
- 60 ml Rye Whiskey 2 oz
- 30 ml Benedictine Liqueur 1 oz
- 1 Dash of Angostura Bitters
Instructions
- Combine the 3 ingredients into your mixing glass
- Stir for 20-30 seconds
- Strain over fresh ice into a double old fashioned
- Garnish with a twist of lemon
