
Needle in the Hay Cocktail Recipe
The Needle in the Hay was created by Los Angeles-based mixologist Devon Tarby. She was a contributor to the well known cocktail book, Cocktail Codex (from the authors and owners of Death & Co). This Islay whisky cocktail is what you would imagine a Autumn cocktail to be - smoky, sweet maple flavours and undertones of apple from the brandy.
Ingredients
- 30 mL Laphroaig Islay Whisky 1 oz
- 22.5 mL Apple Brandy ¾ oz
- 1 Tsp Maple Syrup
- 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Instructions
- Combine the ingredients into your mixing glass
- Stir for 20-30 seconds with ice
- Strain over fresh ice into an old fashioned glass
- Garnish with a twist of lemon
