
Planters Punch Cocktail Recipe
This version of the Planter's Punch is essentially a dark rum Daiquiri with the addition of aromatic bitters served over crushed ice. There are numerous versions of the Planters Punch cocktail but I prefer the simple yet strong recipe that David Embury features in his 1948 book, The Fine Art of Making Drinks.
Ingredients
- 60 mL Dark Jamaican Rum 2 oz
- 30 mL Fresh Lemon Juice 1 oz
- 22.5 mL Simple Syrup ¾ oz
- 2-3 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients into a high ball glass
- Fill with crushed ice and stir
- Garnish with a pineapple wedge, sprig of mint and cherry
