
Whiskey Sour #1 (by Dan Sabo)
Dan Sabo from Hotel Figueroa in Los Angeles took out the top spot from almost 20 Whiskey Sour recipes judged by panelists from PunchDrink.comDan's was a very close 2nd place in my books. It calls for a 100 proof Rye Whiskey along with higher portions of citrus and sweetener to retain balance of strong, sweet and sour. The unorthodox yet welcome addition of a small amount of orange juice contributed a sweet, softer acidic component.The top 3 Whiskey Sour recipes:

Ingredients
- 60 ml Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof
- 30 ml Lemon Juice
- 15 ml 2:1 Rich Simple Syrup
- 15 ml Orange Juice
- 15 ml Egg White
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients to your cocktail shaker
- Dry shake (no ice)
- Wet shake (with ice)
- Strain over fresh ice into a double old fashioned glass
- Garnish with a slice of orange and skewered maraschino cherry
