Yesterday, Today and Amaro

A complex bittersweet and spicy rye whiskey cocktail featured in Brad Thomas Parson's book, Amaro. The sweetness from two amaro's and a herbal liqueur help tame the spicy rye.

  • 60 mL Rye Whiskey 2 oz
  • 15 mL Cynar ½ oz
  • 7.5 mL Averna Amaro ¼ oz
  • 7.5 mL Dom Benedictine ¼ oz


  • Combine all the ingredients into your mixing glass
  • Stir with ice for 30-40 seconds
  • Strain over fresh ice into an old fashioned glass
  • Garnish with a lemon twist (optional)
